Solution Architect

Key Result Area:
Sales:
  • Provide technical pre-sales support in all facets of the NaviSite product line for its existing and prospective customers.
  • Document customer technical requirements.
  • Architect customer solution based on the documented requirements, from standard products or via the special bids process (review and approval by finance, products, delivery, etc.).
  • Be current on technologies customers require.
  • Responsible for pricing of solution based on requirements. This includes working off price lists, bundles, and obtaining special approvals for discounting, product deviations, etc. under the special bids process.
  • Coordinate and assist with responses to RFP/RFI.
  • Participate in business and detailed technical discussions at all levels and in all departments of the customer’s organization to support the selection of the Company.
  • Give corporate presentations to customers and prospects at site visits, marketing events and such venues. Topics include strategic and tactical technical and business directions and technical product demonstrations.
  • Coordinate with and support account executives in meeting preparation, meeting follow-up, and qualification process.
  • Attend client meetings for opportunity qualification and requirements gathering. Participate in account strategy meetings, providing competitive, technical, and business guidance and solution alternatives.
  • Lead Data Center tours, train site managers to lead data center tours.
  • Provide assistance with hardware purchases and procurement.
  • Assemble/support deal-packs.

Liaison:

  • Provide technical and liaison services for NaviSite relating to implementation, configuration, performance monitoring, tuning, and customer production cutover.
  • Support Service Delivery Implementation Manager and team throughout the implementation cycle.
    Gather and draft implementation documents.
  • Document solution architecture, Pre-sales Discovery Document, scope of work, and work with Service Delivery for orderly transition of account from pre-sales to implementation.
  • Provide support for other departments (Marketing, Products, Operations, etc.) as requested.
    Support CRM team in post-contract support.

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years experience in a sales engineering role with a similar product line or service offering (hosting, outsourcing, ISP, solutions, professional services etc…)
  • 4 to 5 years technical experience in an IT support-related role
  • Client interfacing experience, particularly with C-level clients
  • Experience in a sales environment
  • Excellent communication skills
